Mona (Eva Habermann), Theo (Marcus Grüsser) and Hanna (Lilly Liefers) live in a villa in the green idyll on the outskirts of Berlin. She is a successful lawyer tied to her home due to a recent car crash. Her husband Theo, an attempted author with a writer's block, lives at Mona's expense. Teenage daughter Hanna dreams of a model life, struggling for recognition and attention.

When Alina (Caroline Hartig), the daughter of Mona's childhood friend, moves into the villa for a few weeks, more and more problems surface.

While Theo falls for Alina's Lolita-like attraction, Mona dives deeper and deeper into a maelstrom of alcohol and depression. Helpless to deal with their own fate and take care for one another, the small family inevitably heads for disaster.
